Ravens Roster

Looking at the decisions made in shaping the roster, the only one that really sticks out to me in a not so great way, is letting Joe Reitz go.   Considering their lack of depth at offensive tackle, cutting someone that knows the system and has performed well enough at times seems strange.  The Miami Dolphins concur as they today signed Reitz to their 53 man roster.

Otherwise, I like keeping all the draft picks from 2010.  They’ve all shown promise, certainly worthy of deeper looks.

Below is the press release from the Ravens regarding their roster moves today.  It does not include a mention of Hunter Cantwell, although many reports say an agreement is in place for the former Louisville quarterback to join the practice squad.  Makes sense, with only two qb’s on the active roster, one working in wait is crucial.

The Ravens signed the following players to their practice squad Sunday afternoon:

Drew, Davon TE    6-4   255   1     East Carolina

Harper, Justin    WR    6-3   226   3     Virginia Tech

Mattison, Bryan   G     6-3   313   2     Iowa

McClellan, Albert OLB   6-2   255   R     Marshall

Steele, Curtis    RB    6-0   200   R     Memphis

Tyler, Devin      T     6-7   305   R     Temple

The Ravens waived the following player:

Miller, Prince                CB          5-8   198   R           Georgia

The Ravens signed the following player to their 53-man roster:

McCann, Bryan           CB          5-10  190   R     SMU

McCann, who was originally signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted rookie free agent, posted three interceptions at SMU during his senior season.
