Jai-Normous Opportunity

The benefits of a run to the Final Four continue, even off the court. Aberdeen native and former George Mason power forward Jai Lewis today signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants. Not a down of college football but at 6’7”, 275 pounds the Giants take a flyer. They know he’s coordinated and athletic from watching the NCAA Tourney plus recent history says this can work.

San Diego All Pro tight end Antonio Gates also played hoops in college, going to the Elite 8 with Kent State in 2002. The Chargers picked him up, and from there he becomes one of the top tight ends in football.

The Giants aren’t sure if they want Lewis at tight end or defensive end. Either way he has his shot.
